Russia Prepares for Nuclear War: President Putin's Threat to the West
Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned Western countries that Russia
is technically ready for nuclear war and that if the US sends troops to
Ukraine, it would be seen as a significant escalation of tensions.
According to the British news agency Reuters, President Putin, speaking a
few days before the elections from March 15 to 17, said that there is no rush
for a nuclear war and that he sees no need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

In an interview with TV channel Russia 1 and news agency RIA, when the
71-year-old Russian president was asked if the country is really ready for a
nuclear war? So he said that 'from a military technical point of view we are
definitely ready.'
He said that the United States understands that if it deploys American
troops on Russian soil or in Ukraine, Russia will consider this action as
interference.
"(In America) there are a lot of experts in the field of
Russian-American relations and in the strategic field. So I don't think
everything here is speeding towards it (a nuclear conflict) but we are ready
for it.
Vladimir Putin's nuclear warning comes as another offer of talks over the
Ukraine conflict has been made.
The US had said that Vladimir Putin was not ready for serious talks on
Ukraine.
The Russian president has repeatedly warned that if the West sends troops
to fight in Ukraine, it will increase the risk of nuclear war.
