He said that the United States understands that if it deploys American troops on Russian soil or in Ukraine, Russia will consider this action as interference.

Vladimir Putin's nuclear warning comes as another offer of talks over the Ukraine conflict has been made.

The US had said that Vladimir Putin was not ready for serious talks on Ukraine.
